June 29, 2025 - Joyful Praise
ThroughScripture and Song Scriptures: Psalm 67 and John 1:1-18
Today, the congregation celebrated Jesus with scripture and song. The choir sang an uplifting anthem and then helped lead the congregation in more singing. Scripture was read at different times in the service. The congregation chose favorite hymns that everyone joined in with their voices. It was a joyful time praising Jesus for his many blessings in our lives. June 22, 2025 - Vintage Faith Rev. Chris Danielson Psalm 3:1-8
Psalm 3 tells of David fleeing from Absalom, his son. Absalom was trying to kill David and completely take over his kingdom. This psalm was written closer to the end of David's journey. He was battle worn and weary. He was trying to protect his kingdom and his son. AGAIN!
But God was David's shield just as he is our shield today. He can help us face the latest circumstances of our lives.
God is faithful. When we call out to Him, he can save us. We can put our trust in God.
Rev. Danielson talked of home as a place to return to, to feel embraced, but it is also a place that sends us back out into the world. Remember each is a child of God. Cry out, he will lift us. Put your trust in God and then go out. Through it all, God is there to "push you."
Scripture that is your holy place (your home) is also your gift, to embody and share with the world. Scripture is always there to embrace, to send us out, to remind us to strengthen others. Know that your heart is secure. You are a child of God and nothing can take that away!
